Introductions - ajacobsfoust - 07-26-2017

Hi all!

Let's do introductions.

I'm Amanda Jacobs Foust and I'm RIPL Project Coordinator. When I'm not working on RIPL, I spend my time reading, talking and writing about comics in libraries.

Hello from Colorado! I'm Rochelle Logan, a library consultant and trainer. I am one of your instructors at RIPL and am looking forward to the trip to Maine and meeting you all.

RE: Introductions - AubPubLibDir - 07-31-2017

I'm Mamie Anthoine Ney, director of the Auburn (Maine) Public Library.  Prior to coming to Auburn I was the Maine State Library’s Southern Maine Library District consultant. She received her Master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina in 2008. She has experience in law, accounting, banking, and manufacturing.  I am married and an avid sports fan (Go Irish!), needleworker, and (of course!) reader.

Hello everyone,

I'm the Director of the Lynnfield Public Library in Lynnfield, MA. My library career has included working in Michigan, Arkansas, Oregon, West Virginia, and currently- in MA. This data bootcamp seems to be unlike anything I have particpated in before and I am very excited to attend and meet everyone.

RE: Introductions - samanthacote - 08-01-2017

Hi, I'm Samantha Cote and I'm the Youth Services & Technology Librarian at the Winslow Public Library. I feel very fortunate to be able to attend this program with my director, Pam Bonney. I've also worked at the libraries in Tenants Harbor, Biddeford, and Gorham Maine. Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my partner Jared (a past RIPL attendee), reading, eating delicious food, and visiting my family.

RE: Introductions - AmyL - 08-01-2017

Hello All,

I'm Amy Levine, Director of the Rockland Public Library. It's a little scary how long I've worked in libraries, beginning with work-study as an undergrad, and then working in public libraries with ever-increasing levels of responsibility. I've been at Rockland for barely under nine years; it was/is my first directorship.

I'm passionate about public library service and what it stands for, provides, and accomplishes.  While a little nervous that this type of experience with data may be over my head, I am also eager, and excited about my project.  Having just graduated from the the Midcoast Leadership Academy (7), I've promised myself I'd keep jumping into new opportunities. (If anyone in the Knox/Waldo/Lincoln counties areas is interested, applications for MLA8 are due August 15: http://www.midcoastleadershipacademy.org/apply.html )

Outside of work, I spend way too much time reading...I love cooking & baking (and woe to me, eating the results, as you'll see), and exploring many and random areas of my adopted and beloved Maine.  I live with my husband and four fur-children of the feline persuasion in what's described locally as "way out in the country."

RE: Introductions - sjarzombekAPL - 08-02-2017

Scott Jarzombek, Director of the Albany (NY) Public Library District. We are a 7 branch library that serves 95,000 city residents and is the central library for Albany County (population of 309,000). I have been in libraries for close to 20 years. APL was where I started my career, and I was lucky enough to return 3 years ago to become the director.

Dad of 2 and martial arts enthusiast. I blog for my local paper: http://blog.timesunion.com/scottj/

RE: Introductions - mconroy - 08-02-2017

Hi,

I'm Michelle Conroy and the library director for the Bethel Library in Bethel Maine. I have been in the "library business" for almost 40 yeas.  I like to snow shoe, walk, paddle board, travel and of course read.
