Nicolle Steffen has been with the Colorado State Library for more than 15 years, holding several positions at the Library Research Service, including nine years as the Director. At LRS Nicolle’s major projects included research about library workforce, return on investment for public libraries, outcome-based evaluation of public library services, and intellectual freedom. Nicolle has published and presented both locally and nationally on research topics. She is currently pursuing her interest in collection development and service to underserved populations as the Technical Services Librarian at the Colorado Talking Book Library. Previous to her profession in libraries, Nicolle had a varied career in the private sector that included marketing and sales management.
